Search Engine Marketing Manager, Vance Publishing/Vance Marketing Solutions

 

Vance Publishing/Vance Marketing Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Search Engine Marketing and Social Media Marketing Manager based in our office in Lincolnshire, IL. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay-Per-Click (PPC) and social media marketing projects for Vance Marketing Solutions' clients. The individual will also optimize Vance's websites for search engines. 


The Search Engine Marketing/Social Media Manager plays the lead role in building, integrating and growing the SEO, PPC and social media marketing offerings at Vance Marketing Solutions. The Search Engine Marketing/Social Media Manager reports to the VP of the eMedia department of Vance Publishing and works closely with the Brand Manager of Vance Marketing Solutions. It's extremely important that this person is immersed in and is a leader in search, specifically in regards to SEO, PPC and social media marketing. This person should be a good team player and someone who thrives in an evolving role. At Vance, we view SEO, PPC and social media marketing as key platforms for future agency and client success, and the Manager will be the catalyst for that success. We are looking for someone who is not only proficient in all technical aspects of SEO, PPC and social media, but also someone who knows how to transfer this knowledge into business strategies and sales packages. And while SEO/PPC is the focus, this person will also see the big picture and understand how SEO, PPC and social media best fits into the customer-centric integrated marketing communications plans, which may include mobile marketing, web analytics, content marketing and more.

 

The Search Engine Marketing/Social Media Manager will responsible for:

• Meeting clients with the sales people to provide strategic solutions for the clients. He/she will be a core contributor to strategic initiatives and will ensures that the proposed strategies align with the client's objectives.

Providing marketing recommendations to clients such as how to target their desired audience, the timing/scheduling strategy of their campaigns, etc.

• Executing the entire SEO, PPC and social media marketing project for the client.

• Creating SEO, PPC and social media related content for marketing materials such as website pages, seminar and e-newsletters with Brand Manager

 

SEO

• Creating SEO Strategies and SEO analysis

• Conducting Keyword Research

• Setting up Google and Webmaster tools

• Creating and submitting XML sitemap to search engines

• Web analysis

• Developing and executing link building campaigns and research, identifying and establishing link partners

• Creating ranking and traffic reports and analysis. Providing recommendations and plans for revising the strategies.

 

PPC

• Keyword Bid Management

• Keyword Optimization

• Cost-Per-Acquisition (CPA) Optimization

• Ad Creative Optimization

• Managing media planning, media negotiations and implementation, performance tracking and analysis and various associated projects.

• Buying, executing and evaluating search-based media strategies. This includes interaction with Google, Yahoo, MSN and other media partners. Knowledge of third party analytics solutions and an understanding of the fundamentals of Internet media tracking is required.

 

Social Media Marketing

• Creating sales packages, developing and executing projects with Vance's Brand Manager on the following services:

• Social media marketing strategies

• Social Bookmarking

• Social Profile Creation

• Blog Design & Promotion

• Forum Design & Promotion

• Twitter Setup & Promotion

• Video SEO

• Working closely with business development, creative and brand management teams to ensure media plans and creative are strategically aligned, client needs are met and Vance's quality levels are maintained.

• Managing projects, participating in client meetings and providing client support. He/she will draw insight from program results and to ensure client and internal team understand strategic implications
• Evaluating, selecting and managing SEO, PPC, social media partners/vendors.
• Training editors and print salespeople on SEO, PPC and Social Media Marketing services
• Working with Brand Manager on promoting Vance Marketing Solutions capabilities about SEO, PPC and social media across the company
• Working with group publishers to develop and execute SEO projects for Vance media properties' websites

 

Experience

• Bachelor's degree required. MBA or Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications preferred.

• Additional education, such as SEMPO certificates, Google Qualified AdWords Professional, Yahoo Search Marketing Ambassador, TopSEOs member, Microsoft AdExcellence, Marketing Experiments member desired.

• 3 years professional SEO/PPC experience is required. Agency experience preferred.

• Solid media/marketing experience. Understanding the business-to-business environment and/or knowledge of the salon, woodworking and agricultural industries is a plus, but not required.
• Understanding mobile marketing a plus, but not required.

Business Development Director

Vance Marketing Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Director based in our office in Lincolnshire, IL. This individual will be responsible for selling all aspects of Vance Marketing Solutions’ digital capabilities, including:

 

  • website development/conversion optimization
  • search engine optimization
  • pay-per-click
  • email marketing
  • social media marketing
  • mobile marketing
  • web analytics

 

Ideal candidate will be able to take a consultative approach with clients to help them determine what steps they need to take to improve their overall business and create an integrated marketing communications plan. At least five years agency experience / selling digital services is required. Understanding the business-to-business environment and/or knowledge of the salon, woodworking and agricultural industries is a plus. Should have the ability to have face-to-face contact with national accounts that may have a limited understanding of digital tactics. Frequent travel required.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with print sales team to offer new services to existing clients
  • Preparing proposals, giving presentations and negotiating with business development opportunities
  • Cultivating new accounts through cold calling and networking
  • Evaluating and responding to proposals received for new business
  • Manage, consult and collaborate with internal cross-functional team throughout sales cycle
